As project manager of Wider Sense TraFo, Anna Wiese advises and accompanies key actors on cultural programs in rural areas as part of the project “Kirchturmdenken” – from application to realization. She is the contact person for questions of federal grant law and responsible for project audits. She analyzes the applicants’ needs and helps developing concepts that are eligible for funding. It is important to her to promote sustainable formats of heritage education for a lively cultural program on site – while keeping local communities’ concerns and their specificity of the region in mind.
Before joining Wider Sense TraFo, Anna Wiese has worked as a research assistant in the joint project museum4punkt0 with designing, prototyping, and testing digital products (AR & VR). Previously she was involved in the research and planning of exhibitions and publications at cultural institutions, including Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Kulturprojekte Berlin, gallery neugerriemschneider, and the artist studios of Leiko Ikemura and Tomás Saraceno.
Anna Wiese holds an M.A. in cultural history and theory from Humboldt University of Berlin and a Bachelor degree in European media studies from the University of Potsdam. She also studied abroad at Complutense University of Madrid and Goldsmiths, University of London.

Why did you choose working for Wider Sense?
I am happy to contribute to a diverse cultural life in rural areas and enjoy the impulses my work provides in this interdisciplinary team and in dialogue with the stakeholders.
What is a random fact about you?
Horses fascinate me. As a rider, I learn to communicate clearly through body language and to meet challenges with calmness. I enjoy observing the relationship between nature and humans in depth and developing a deeper understanding of it.
