Eva Schneider
I help organisations to align their social engagement with their core competencies and the needs of their stakeholders in an intelligent and sometimes surprising way.

As a consultant at Wider Sense, Eva Schneider supports foundations, companies and individuals in the strategic development of their social engagement. Her focus areas include participatory grantmaking, European philanthropy, corporate citizenship and purpose.
Before joining Wider Sense, Eva Schneider worked in communications consulting, including crisis communications and public affairs. She has also gained experience in the arts and culture sector in Germany and South Africa, including at the Goethe Institute in Johannesburg and Berlin.
At Freie Universität Berlin and Università degli Studi di Verona (Italy), Eva Schneider completed a bachelor’s degree in Comparative Literature with a minor in Political Science. In the interdisciplinary master’s program European Studies at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder) and Aarhus Universitet (Denmark) she focused on the legal, cultural, economic and political facets of Europe. In her master’s thesis, Eva examined the relationship between the “chameleon” populism and ideologies of various European parties.

Why did you choose working for Wider Sense?
I am fascinated by our work as translators and mediators between worlds. With our projects, we connect the nonprofit sector with companies or the public sector. Together with our clients, we work to address societal challenges holistically and break down silo mentalities.
What is a random fact about you?
I love walking through the streets and parks of Berlin.
