Yasemin Akkoyun has been a project manager in the Kreativpotentiale im Dialog project since May 2021. She is responsible for connecting and advising the partners in the Kreativpotentiale state programs.
Before joining Wider Sense TraFo, Yasemin worked as a freelance academic consultant in the field of cultural participation research and as a project manager for a diversity-oriented youth development program at the Genshagen Foundation.
Previously, she worked in project conception, event management, and impact research, for example as a student assistant and intern at the consulting firm Syspons GmbH, at re:publica, and the Cultural Office of Hanover.
Yasemin Akkoyun studied cultural studies and aesthetic practice (B.A.) and cultural mediation (M.A.) at the University of Hildesheim including two semesters at Goldsmiths University in London and Bilgi University in Istanbul. Her master’s thesis dealt with the topic of diversity-oriented organizational development of publicly funded cultural institutions.
Why did you choose working for Wider Sense?
Because working for an education system that enables students nationwide to participate in cultural education is a great, meaningful task for me.
What is a random fact about you?
My favorite novel is "Memed My Hawk" by Yaşar Kemal, my favorite place in Berlin is Sommerbad Neukölln and my favorite cultural institution is Tate Modern.
