Janna Heegardt

At Wider Sense Trafo, I can help the foundation world to question its structures and transform them in a socially and future-oriented way.

Janna Heegardt ist studentische Mitarbeiterin bei Wider Sense Trafo und unterstützt dort seit März 2022 die Initiative #VertrauenMachtWirkung

Janna is a student trainee at Wider Sense Trafo and has been supporting the #VertrauenMachtWirkung initiative since March 2022 with coordination within the initiative, communicating the content to the outside world, and organizing and implementing events.

As an intern in the field of public affairs and government relations, she was able to gain valuable experience that enables her to prepare content for the #VertrauenMachtWirkung initiative and make it accessible to the foundation world. As part of her work at Wider Sense Trafo, she has continuously improved her social media skills in order to expand the initiative’s reach.

Understanding structures and identifying, analyzing, and dismantling power hierarchies are a central focus of her political science master’s degree at Freie Universität Berlin. Fostering these transformations to enable a more social and egalitarian society is what she finds in her work at Wider Sense Trafo. She completed her bachelor studies at the University of Münster and the Universiteit Twente, in the Netherlands. The combination of political theory at the University of Münster and a practical focus in the Netherlands, in the transnational study program Public Governance Across Borders, has optimally prepared her for a field of work in which social change is initiated by questioning structures.

Why did you choose working for Wider Sense?

I always wanted to understand what makes people tick and why our society is the way it is. Now I can use this knowledge to help foundations improve it.

What is a random fact about you?

Climbing, hiking, camping and being outdoors is just as important to me as enjoying city life or spending time comfortably at home.
